A Multi-Sensory Approach to Learning and Relationship
Moving Stories™ are stories told with objects or story pieces in the theater of a sandtray.
The Moving Stories™ Method
The Moving Stories™ method is a flexible, relational approach that guides the storyteller to consider 9 steps as they structure and hold the experience for groups and individuals. Storytellers learn how to select, tell, and most importantly, support and hear the creative response to the story.

Moving Stories™ can be told remotely or in-person either in Dr. Duffy’s Wonder Room in Perry Maine or at your location.
Individual Sessions
Sessions may be completed remotely or in Dr. Duffy’s Wonder Room in Perry, Maine. This is a special kind of room with a collection of Moving Stories™ kits, and objects for use in the sandtray.
Family Sessions
Moving Stories™ provide an opportunity for family members to grow closer and express difficult feelings, particularly between siblings or guardians and their children. Stories can be tailored towards your particular situation.
Group Sessions
Moving Stories™ for groups provide a powerful opportunity to heal and learn in community. These groups might have a therapeutic focus, such as grief and loss. They might also be a part of a retreat or organization.
For Schools
Moving Stories™ provides hands-on social emotional learning, creating safety and connection in classrooms. It was embraced as a trauma-informed approach in the book “Trauma-Responsive Schooling-Centering Student Voice”. Moving Stories™ can also work well for school-based activities such as Friendship or Grief and Loss Groups with children.
